Re-imagining Healesville Sanctuary
Project type
Branding - Rebrand // Advertising - Campaign Creation
Date
January 2025
Location
Melbourne
This project was created as part of a university assignment, where I was tasked with developing a complete rebrand for an existing brand that felt visually outdated. I chose to reimagine the identity of a well-established zoo within the Zoo Victoria family, focusing on modernising its branding while respecting its legacy and strong community presence.
The aim was to refresh the look and feel of the zoo by simplifying its logo, refining the colour palette, and introducing a cleaner, more contemporary design system. The rebrand was conceptual only and not affiliated with the actual organisation, but it allowed me to explore how thoughtful design can breathe new life into a beloved institution.
To further support the rebrand, I created a short social media story animation inspired by the zoo’s real campaign, “90 Years of the Sanctuary.” This animation was designed to highlight the organisation’s long-standing impact while blending seamlessly with the updated branding.
All images used throughout this project are my own photography. Capturing original content was an important part of the process, allowing me to maintain creative control and ensure the visuals aligned with the overall tone and direction of the rebrand.
